3 linked to string of car burglaries | Crime
Gulfport, Florida -- Gulfport Police recently conducted a surveillance operation that led to the arrest of three suspects in connection with six, possibly more, vehicle burglaries between Sunday, June 10 and Wednesday, June 13.
Police say the suspects--Craig McComas, 27; Brian George, 27; and Tiffany Kenton, 24--were targeting unlocked vehicles in the area south of 27th Avenue South between Tifton Street and Beach Boulevard.
During their investigation, detectives were able to pinpoint the location and time of the burglaries. They then conducted a surveillance operation and witnessed three people walking into the yards and driveways of homes in the target area and committing a vehicle burglary.
When officers tried to arrest them, they fled on foot, but two were quickly apprehended. The third was tracked down with the assistance of a K-9 unit who found the suspect in a shed behind a house.
All three lived in a home in the 2500 block of 50th St. S. just blocks from where they committed the burglaries.
All face various charges including armed burglary to an unoccupied vehicle, burglary to an unoccupied vehicle, attempted burglary to an occupied vehicle, resisting without violence, and principle in the first degree.
The investigation continues as many of the recovered stolen items have not been linked to previous reports.
